We eat plants

We eat plants
June 11-14

I showed the children a bunch of vegetables(tomatoes, peas, celery, broccolis, spinach and carrots) and asked "Can you tell me which part of plant are these vegetables come from?".

Spinach is leaf!
Carrots are roots!
Broccoli is a tree!
What are tomatoes?

I read a book called "The Vegetable We Eat" by Gail Gibbons.

According to this book, vegetables are divided into 8 groups. Afterwords, I handed the children vegetables I brought, then they sturdied and tasted those vegetables.

I can see a lot of buds on top of broccolis!
Look! There are many seeds inside of peas!
I love celeries......I mean stems.
I did't know that I eat roots.

They were amazed at their new findings and enjoyed the tastes of plants.
