What do you know about plants?
June 4-7

At the opening of the inquiry the children shared a lot of knowledge about plants.

Flowers and trees are plants.
Plants have leaves, stems and roots.
Roots are for sucking water from ground.
Plants need water, the sunlight and soil.
Some trees have flowers like cherry blossoms.
Some trees have fruits as well like apples.

We made pictures based on their ideas.

The children already knew a lot about plants and at same time they were wondering......

We eat stems and leaves like celeries and spinach. How about flowers or roots?
I know we eat trees as broccolis!
Trees drop their leaves off in winter.
Wait, what about Christmas trees? They have leaves even in winter!.....

There are still a bunch of things to learn!!
